Masterful recount of insight gained and lessons learned from students that spans the author career in education.

Great book! If leaves you wanting more. This book is a must-read for all new teachers and those who are interested in understanding and improving the disconnection of trauma and school influences. learning to “Uncripple” children can definitely lead to healthy, productive and functioning adults. I highly recommend! Ms. Patricia Jackson outdid herself with this one! Can’t wait to read more of her work and examples of how she guided children from Trauma to Triumph. I think it’s also a great read for parents, so they can see the trauma perspective through the eyes of the educator and their child. Trauma responses are often ignored in school and most people don’t care “why”. They often focus on the action the child did vs understanding the reason and prevention. Let’s stop reacting and teach to assist and not add to trauma.
